e-Sewa
Sewa Kendras were instituted in August 2016 with the primary objective of streamlining service delivery and improving citizen engagement in the state of Punjab. The implementation was carried out by the Punjab State e-Governance Society (PSeGS), acting as the executing agency for the Department of Good Governance & Information Technology (DGG&IT) under the Government of Punjab.
Objectives and Focus Areas:
Integration of Service Delivery Channels: Eliminating the existing setup where departments function independently, fostering a unified approach to service delivery.
Optimizing Workforce and Resources: Efficient utilization of available workforce and resources to enhance the effectiveness of service delivery mechanisms.
Cost-Effective Service Delivery: Implementing methods that are both efficient and cost-effective to ensure optimal resource utilization.
Departmental Focus: Allowing government departments to concentrate on their core duties and responsibilities by centralizing service delivery.
Consistency in Service Delivery: Ensuring uniformity and consistency in the service delivery process across the entire state.
Timely Service Delivery: Adhering to the Punjab Transparency and Accountability Act 2018 to ensure timely delivery of services.
Citizen Comfort and Amenities: Providing a comfortable and convenient environment for citizens availing services at Sewa Kendras.
e-Sewa Web Portal: Utilizing the “e-Sewa” web portal as a platform to deliver services seamlessly through Sewa Kendras
