The District Magistrate, Amritsar, has declared ‘dry days’ on 26.10.2026, the occasion of the appearance day (Pragat Diwas) of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji, and on 27.10.2026, the birth anniversary (Prakash Gurpurab) of Sahib Sri Guru Ramdas Ji Maharaj.

In view of the Prakat Diwas of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji on 26.10.2026 and the Prakash Gurpurab of Sahib Sri Guru Ramdas Ji Maharaj on 27.10.2026, I hereby issue orders for the closure of liquor vends/shops located within a 500-meter radius of the religious event venues—namely, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sthal, Amritsar, and Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib (Sri Darbar Sahib), Amritsar. Furthermore, these orders shall also apply to shops selling cigarettes/tobacco/other intoxicants, as well as those selling eggs and meat, along the route(s) of the Nagar Kirtan scheduled for 26.10.2026.
